In the history of Medicine, dozens, if not hundreds of times, medical therapies invented by medical or nonmedical figures have arisen that for a few years or decades, had their own newsworthy success and transient placebo effects, such that they lasted a short time and disappeared into oblivion.

This has not happened with Acupuncture.

Prof. Luciano Roccia

Description of the retreat

Acupuncture arose empirically from the careful and meticulous daily observation through past centuries of the Chinese people on everyday natural phenomena.

So it is that with its history of more than 5,000 years, Acupuncture came to us a few centuries ago brought to Europe after Marco Polo’s discovery of China.

Today the WHO ( World Health Organization) declares Acupuncture a medical practice for all purposes and in many European countries, provided by Local Health Services. There are more than two hundred hospital facilities in Italy where Acupuncture is officially practiced in various specialties, especially in Pain Therapy and Gynecology:

In Eastern countries where Acupuncture is normally used alongside modern Western medicine, more than 30 percent less of the drugs used in the West are generally used, much to the “chagrin” of the drug companies, so much so that, in the past, research was funded in some countries to prove ” the ineffectiveness of Acupuncture” and such research is now over.

Today there are more than 40,000 official scientific publications demonstrating and explaining the mechanism of action of Acupuncture and its effectiveness in many diseases.
