Ashtanga Yoga and Avatar retreat
with Luis Fernàndez
Regenerate, reconnect, and expand your conscience in this fabulous retreat in Salento
The retreat offers meditation sessions and Satsang, yoga study, mantra and asana practices suitable for beginners and advanced students with classes of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (Mysore style & led class) and Yoga Avatar (the latter designed in our school) , with two daily practices divided in the morning at 7:00 and evening at 18:00.
Avatar is a Sanskrit term that means descent – divine incarnation. When the world is in difficulty and dispersion and chaos reign, there comes a transcendent being, a divine messenger with the aim of restoring and recovering the order and the divine law (dharma). There have been many avatars and many can still be incarnated.
Avatar Yoga was born in our school with the idea of creating an order and taking up the authentic values of yoga such as community, respect for tradition, devotion and direct experience of practice.
In Avatar we put our commitment to learn how to manage our practice of posture, breathing, relaxation (asana, pranayama, yoganidra) with the purpose of self observing us.
In the intimate self-observation we understand better ourselves, others and the world and we can achieve a radical transformation.
Avatar is a system focused on breath, movement, alignment and knowledge of the body, strength and flexibility.
As in Ashtanga Yoga the purpose of the avatar is to stimulate the student to learn postures, or sequences of postures, conscious breathing, and the various techniques that put him able to autogestire his practice. In the same way as other styles it is oriented to clear the mind from stress, relax, tone and correct body imbalances through proper execution of postures.
