YOGA FAMILY RETREAT
WITH TANYA SERGEEVA

This workshop will focus mainly on strengthening the bond between the parents and kids, reuniting them together in warmth and peace. The yoga method can deepen the sense of self and help embody others close to us. The modern life reduces the quality of time we spend with loved ones. A good example is being constantly interrupted with smartphones.

The specific location designed for this course in a cozy beautiful villa in south Italy will provide the perfect environment for the workshop to achieve this goal. Italian food, beautiful beaches, and the warm weather will help this deep relaxation process and allows one to arrive at rest.

TANYA SERGEEVA – BIO:

Yoga came into my life in 2008. I started attending Hatha yoga classes at the Moscow Yoga Federation Baumaskaya. In 2011 I learned about Ashtanga Yoga tradition and attended a workshop taught by Dmitry Baryshnikov at the Moscow Ashtanga Yoga Centre. My heart fully accepted this yoga style and since then my personal practice has been developing uninterruptedly based on this practice.

I attended the Moscow courses of Sharath Jois, the Guru and Keeper of the tradition, practiced with western teachers Luck Jordan, Eddie Stern, Tim Feldmann and David Robson in Moscow, traveled to study with Ty Landrum in YIS Italy and continued practicing with Dmitry Baryshnikov in his regular classes and workshops.
In January 2016 I was admitted to join my first course at Shri K.Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute, Mysore India, and stayed there in Jan-Feb 2016, returned in Feb-March 2017, Dec 2017 and Jan 2018.

Since 2014 I have been teaching adult classes according to the Ashtanga yoga tradition (Mysore class, led class with counting).

Since 2013 I have been teaching group children’s yoga classes at various yoga centers and childcare centers as well as one-to-one children’s classes with children with various special needs.

I attended workshops for children’s yoga teachers taught by Victoria Zankina (Basic basics, Basic practices for children with special needs, Attention development for kids) и courses by Jo Manuel in 2016 (Special Yoga for Special Children, Yoga for Children with Cerebral Palsy and have been certified to teach kids with special needs by The Special Yoga Foundation London.

When I practice with children I am learning to be patient, accepting, generous, kind, compassionate, grateful. Thanks to yoga I develop my own ability to keep calm while being surrounded by tension, anger, and worries. My regular daily practice, which helps me realize my own nature and my strength is key to my successful practice with both children and adults who choose to practice under my guidance.
